Here are some answers to frequently asked questions:
1) When are you due?
End of May 2010. It would be funny if the baby came on Grandma & Amanda’s birthday or Elise’s birthday the day after!
2) Are you going to find out if it’s a boy or girl?
YES. As soon as possible, and probably between the 13th and 16th week.
3) Have you picked out any names?
Lots. Boy names are fairly certain. Declan Michael or Connor Thomas. If it’s twins, both. Girl names… there are lots of options we like, but we’ve decided on Stella, with Beatrice as an optional twin name. Not certain of middle names just yet, but we have a list that we’re narrowing down.
4) What will you do with your dogs?
I’m always surprised when I get this one. Our dogs are our family, and Caleb and I believe in the commitment we made to our animals when we adopted them. Our dogs’ crates currently occupy the extra bedroom in our house, so we are now planning to finish off the garage for this purpose. It will be a project — insulation, drywall, floor resurfacing, a couple new windows, baseboard heating, and a window AC unit. The dogs will still sleep in crates and be crated during times when we are not home or cannot closely supervise them — that’s how it’s always been. I plan to consult a dog trainer friend when it is time to introduce the dogs individually to the new addition, and we’ll continue working with her to make sure they adjust properly.
